You cast spells by which clothing you wear, the books you read, which movies you watch, the thoughts you think, the art you make and the conversations you speak. -Audrey Kitching
My soul is a butterfly. I came into this earthly existence knowing I would have to continue to transform myself again and again and again. I have been raising caterpillars that turn into butterflies since I was a child. The process is rather emotional to witness. Each little caterpillar knows it must spin a cocoon out of pure instinct. The day their transformation begins, they eat up to three whole leaves and climb all the way to the top of the cage. Sometimes they get scared and aren’t ready to come back down. They can’t see the future and they have no idea they are about to become the most beautiful winged creature; they must leap into the unknown. Once they form their cocoon, they split down the center and their entire body becomes liquid, only to be reborn. The ultimate sacrifice. Transformation is hard: it’s messy, it’s scary, it’s painful. We look to the butterfly in awe without acknowledging or understanding what it had to do to become.
Everything we do is a spell. Energy in the form of thought, spoken word and action is casting off our soon to be fate. You cast spells by which clothing you wear, the books you read, which movies you watch, the thoughts you think, the art you make and the conversations you speak. One must tread carefully on this earth. It’s workings are much more magical than one might perceive. Most people are not aware of the spells the cast upon themselves. You must stay present and aware in the life you are creating. Magic has no judgment. It paints your reality, but you my dears are the ones casting it.
